In partnership with the technology company Intel, the NSF’s new Institute creates a coalition of scientists, materials researchers and data scientists from Cornell, Princeton, the City College of the City University of New York and Boston University.

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) announced a $100 million investment, made jointly with Capital One and Intel, to fund five National Artificial Intelligence Research Institutes and a community hub.

The U.S. National Science Foundation, in partnership with Intel, will invest $20 million over five years to establish the Artificial Intelligence Materials Institute (NSF AI-MI) at Cornell University, announced on July 29.

Led by Cornell University, the NSF AI-MI aims to propel foundational AI research to accelerate the discovery of next-generation materials for sustainable energy, electronics, environmental stewardship and quantum technologies.
